Adult social care - Coronavirus update
Adult social care and our providers in Warrington are supporting up to 2,600 vulnerable people in their homes and in care settings every day. As the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) progresses, services will be disrupted for the foreseeable future.
We are following and reviewing government guidance to make sure that we are able to respond to the latest advice. We are working closely with our partners and providers to ensure they are following infection control advice and continue to deliver safe care. We are then able to prioritise those most at risk, and in need of care and support services.
Our main priorities at this time are:
- Keeping our most vulnerable people, with care and support needs, safe and well in the community
- Keeping flow through the hospital so that people who are the most unwell can be cared for
- Developing a community 'safe and well' service that can respond quickly to help people who may be isolated and in need of support
While we are working closely with our care providers and other agencies to minimise disruption to our services, we are also asking for the support of individuals and their families to try to ensure that together, those who are most vulnerable, can receive the care they need and are effectively safeguarded.
