We are looking for an experienced PMO Manager to join the council’s Change Delivery team.

The PMO Manager role provides an exciting opportunity to play a vital part in the delivery continuing the transformation journey, across the Council, activity defining and maintaining the standards within the Change Delivery function.

The role also has responsibility for a range of activities:

  • Demand management

  • Discovery analysis

  • Production of business proposals

  • Reporting & tracking project delivery and benefits realisation

You would be joining an established, skilled team, who are developing new solutions and services that will transform the way services are delivered and supported by the council. The Change Function has a broader remit to deliver change across all parts of the Council, so a key part of the role will be to introduce new standards for change and governance to improve visibility and reporting on all major changes.

The successful candidate:

Will implement and share best practice, as well as developing PMO procedures, tools and techniques. They will provide guidance, support and insight on the programme of work, and act as the single source of truth for project information and metrics.

They will work collaboratively with local change practitioners/business process owners across the council, to share best practice and role model the skills needed across the organisation.

Key skills

We are also looking for someone with highly developed interpersonal skills, able to demonstrate strong leadership skills, and inspire the team and wider stakeholders to work differently. The role requires an individual to be innovative and creative, able to influence senior stakeholders to accept new ways of working / changes to working practices on major processes, to operate more efficiently within the Council.

You must have relevant qualifications and experience of working within a PMO environment, as well as excellent stakeholder management, communication and organisational skills, with an ability to manage competing demands whilst working at pace and a passion to deliver change.
