We currently have a number of vacancies within the Preparation for Adulthood and Under 65 Teams including full time posts of 37 hours and the possibility of part time posts with hours to be negotiated. 

Preparation for Adulthood Team

We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic, motivated, experienced social workers to join the Preparation for Adulthood Team; a busy care management team working with young people with Special Educational Needs & Disability (SEND) as they make the transition from childhood to adulthood.

Our vision in Warrington is for young people and vulnerable adults with SEND to have the best school or college experience, find meaningful occupation, live as independently as possible, feel valued and have greater control over the support they receive.

What we are looking for

You will need to be experienced in building and sustaining relationships with young people, vulnerable adults and their families.

You will  have excellent communication skills, be able to complete strengths based assessments, identifying needs, risks and outcomes with the individual. An excellent working knowledge of applicable legislation is essential as is the ability to work flexibly and effectively in partnership with a range of voluntary and statutory agencies as well as having good time management and organisational skills.

A working knowledge of learning disability, physical disability, autism spectrum disorder or mental ill health is essential.

Under 65’s Team

As a social worker working within the Adults under 65’s team you will have the opportunity to work with adults predominately aged 18 to 65 who have learning disabilities, mental health conditions and/or physical disabilities in the community. We also work with prison offenders, drugs/alcohol dependency and we lead on international refugee resettlement.

The under 65’s service is made up of four geographic areas, South, West, East and Central. Each of these teams is supported by a Team Manager and consists of Advanced Practitioners, Social Workers, Community Care Workers and Carer Support Workers. These teams currently sit together offering a large knowledge, skill base and great opportunity for peer/colleague support.

Supporting the "Return to social work" and "ASYE" Programmes

Although we are recruiting for the post of Social Worker, to support both the national ‘Return to Social Work’ and ‘ASYE’ programmes, we will be accepting applications from Social Work students. Any offers of employment to the Social Worker vacancies will be conditional, pending the applicant’s relevant academic award and registration to Social Work England.
